| LDSG supports immigration detainees in Harmondsworth and Colnbrook Immigration Removal Centres through the following services:
volunteer visitors, who make regular visits to individual detainees to give emotional support to enable them to cope with their detention;
the detainee freephone service, which is open to detainees in Harmondsworth and Colnbrook Immigration Removal Centres during office hours, and which enables detainees with limited access to telephone cards to access our service and contact the outside world in an emergency;
asylum support advice, enabling asylum-seeking detainees to access statutory housing support, to prepare for release and to enable them to apply for bail;
general practical assistance, including help in contacting solicitors, bail representatives, specialist service providers, community organisations, friends and family;
LDSG also assists people in detention to be heard in the wider debate on immigration and detention policy, through the "Detained Lives" campaign. www.detainedlives.org
